Penny was born and raised in Pella, Iowa.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994, and her Masters degree in Counseling in 2001 from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Having just fulfilled one dream of earning her Masters in Counseling, Penny set her sights on her next dream.  In late 2002 she signed up for her first photography class and in 2003 won her first award, Chairman's Choice for Excellence from the Lake of the Ozarks Arts Council.  She concentrated on building her portfolio in 2004, and in 2005 she began showing her work at art fairs across the Midwest.  She relocated to southern California in early 2006 and in May of 2006 she showed her work at the prestigious Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens Art Fair.  She continues to show her work throughout Los Angeles and Phoenix and has won several awards for her photography.  In December of 2008 she relocated to Arizona and began pursuing another interest: humanitarian photography.  In 2010 she traveled to Malawi and, together with her husband, provided over 900 children with their first picture of themselves.  Penny and Troy will travel back to Africa in 2012 to work with an NGO to provide portraits for the children and humanitarian photography for the organization.

Penny's work has been used by Anchor Wallace Publishers, One Hope Network, Phoenix Mesa Marriott Hotel, Western Theological Seminary, and the popular Showtime Series “Weeds”.

Troy was born and raised in Arlington, TX.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Masters degree in Information Technology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  After graduating from college Troy was accepted into the pilot training program in the Air Force.  Troy has instructed in both the T-38 and the T-1, has flown the C-5 all over the world, provided humanitarian assistance in Sudan, managed upgrades for the C-5, has investigated aircraft accidents as a flight safety officer, and has flown chase in the C-12 at Edwards Air Force Base.  Troy retired from the Air Force in December of 2008 after serving a successful 20 years.  He currently works as a Systems Engineer.

Troy is Penny's business manager and “key grip”.  Troy has always been interested in photography, having served as his high school's yearbook photographer.  Combining his interest in photography with his “computer geek” skills, he enjoys assisting in the processing of prints.  His dream is to travel the world providing humanitarian photography with his wife.
